Gorilla Trek: A 360° Ride Film is a virtual reality experience presented in partnership with Immotion. Housed with a message of sustainability inside a giant repurposed shipping container, Gorilla Trek is a VR Theater featuring 12 cinema motion seats on a motion platform. VR goggles and moving seats provide the experience of being delivered via helicopter into Rwanda. A virtual trek 10,000 feet up into the jungle introduces a live-action adventure as users have the opportunity to observe a family group of elusive and endangered mountain gorillas up-close in their natural habitat. Gorilla Trek is presented in partnership with Immotion and narrated by Tara Stoinski, PhD, President and CEO/Chief Scientific Officer of The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, Zoo Atlanta’s longtime partner in gorilla conservation.

The Great Migration: A 360° Ride Film is a virtual reality experience presented in partnership with Immotion. Housed with a message of sustainability inside a giant repurposed shipping container, our VR Theater features 12 cinema motion seats on a motion platform. VR goggles and moving seats allow visitors to witness how millions of free-roaming animals such as wildebeests, zebras and antelopes make their way through the peaks and perils of Africa’s savanna terrain, from the Maasai Mara River in Kenya to the majestic landscape of Tanzania’s Serengeti, in search for a better life across the animal kingdom.

Wild Encounter: Elephant
During this one-hour Wild Encounter experience, you will learn about elephants with a Zoo Educator before heading behind the scenes to meet up with members of the Elephant Care Team and find out more about elephant care at the Zoo. Of course, no Elephant Wild Encounter would be complete without the opportunity to hand-feed one of the “girls” an afternoon snack.

Wild Encounter: Petting Zoo Painters
Join the Animal Care Team and one of our talented animal artists, meeting either the Zoo’s “VanGoat” or “Baaahlo,” and take home a unique work of art in this unforgettable experience.
Learn about the positive reinforcement training process of becoming an animal artist. See firsthand the ways this enrichment activity fits into high standards of care for animals at the Zoo when you meet a goat or sheep and see their art creation in action. Please note that we cannot guarantee a specific animal for your program.
