Welcome back to school! 

After a year that was full of challenges and change, we at Zoo Atlanta hope that you each had a restful break and are able to start the school year recharged! 2020 was an unpredictable year that tested not only our skills, but also our stamina. However, through challenge comes innovation!  At Zoo Atlanta we have revamped our programs, both virtual and in person, to include interactive and memorable learning experiences for both you and your students. Regardless of if you are teaching in person or remotely, we have resources for you to connect the standards that you are teaching with the science at Zoo Atlanta!
 
Learn about the ways that animals utilize vibrations from the comfort of your classroom as you tour the Zoo focusing on sound waves, or join us in person to learn about vertebrate classes and solve a classic case of “whodunit!” We have a wide range of virtual programs to choose from, with GSE and NGSS connections for every grade level. Looking for video on a Georgia native species or what characterizes each of the vertebrate classes? Check out our Zoo2You page for short, standards-based animal interpretation. Able to come to the Zoo? Lead your students on a self-guided tour or meet up with our educators for an in-person Zoo Challenge. Learning about Georgia regions? Book our Georgia Goes Wild ZooMobile for an up-close look at some of the animals that call Georgia home! Reservations for all programs can be made online. Sponsored Admission funds are available to qualifying schools on a first come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made now for anytime this school year! 

As you plan out your year, don’t forget about our annual Educator Soirée and Educator Appreciation Days! Enjoy an adults-only evening in the Zoo on Saturday, October 9, at our annual Educator Soirée. Delight in complimentary hors d-oeuvres, keeper chats, and educational booths, as well as beer and wine for purchase as you relax and unwind. Then, join us again for a family-friendly Educator Appreciation Day in the spring!
