Happy Zoo Year!

On behalf of the entire Zoo Atlanta Team, Happy Zoo Year! 2019 will be an incredible year at Zoo Atlanta and we hope to see you at one of our many exciting events or visiting the new African Savanna this summer. No matter when you visit, there will be fun things going on for the entire family where guests can play, learn and act on behalf of wildlife!

This spring, the Zoo will kick off a year of celebration days to honor many of our animal ambassadors. Starting with Kori Bustard Day in March, we will be celebrating animals small to large, pollinators to elephants to crocodiles! Visit the Zoo on one of our many animal days, throughout the year, and hear an animal care specialist share stories and facts about featured animals and their wild counterparts. Families will also get to participate in FUN hands-on activities and learn more about conservation going on in the wild.

In the summer, come see the new African Savanna! The complex will debut new habitats for African elephants, giraffes, zebra, ostriches, warthogs and more, not to mention the debut of new southern white rhinos.

In the fall and winter, the Zoo will be the place to celebrate the holidays. Come to the Zoo after Labor Day and Play the Animal Way. This day is all about enriching the animals, and guests will get to play games such as Forage like a Kori, learning to find food like the kori bustards! In addition, you will get to see our animal ambassadors enjoy all kinds of enrichment. It’s a great day to see the animals in action!

Come back in October for Boo at the Zoo. The Zoo is transformed for two weekends into a spooktacular celebration of all things Halloween. Don your costumes and come to the Zoo to trick-or-treat for some ecofriendly candy, and join the parade through the Zoo! You may also catch some special animal talks and enrichment!

After Thanksgiving, bring your family for Cookies with Santa. Get your family photo with Santa and learn about how you can green your Christmas by using ecofriendly decorations! You can also experience Zoo Atlanta’s tree lighting at Jungle Bells, and most importantly visit the animals, many of whom are active in cooler weather.

Whether you come once or every month, there will be lots going on this year at Zoo Atlanta! Check out the events page to learn more all the fun at the Zoo. See you in 2019!
