Seniors, ages 55+, will enjoy complimentary general admission to the Zoo and savor the amazing animal views! Admission also includes special activities with seniors in mind, including Keeper Talks, live animal presentations, and more!

Yes! Manual wheelchairs and electric scooters are available for rental at the Zoo Atlanta Explorer Store or at Safari Outfitters, both located just inside the front entrance. The electric scooters are limited in number and available for rental on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted.

Are the paths paved and wheelchair accessible?

How much walking can I expect? Are there areas to sit?
Zoo Atlanta contains about two miles of pathways. Expect some uphill and downhill paths. Explore at your own pace with plenty of areas to rest, recharge, and savor the view.
Is accessible parking available?
Accessible parking is available in the Cherokee Avenue parking lot and the Grant Park Gateway parking facility. Its availability is on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early. Information on getting here can be found here.
Is there a ride service from the Zoo entrance to my car?
We do not currently offer rides between the Zoo entrance and your vehicle. If needed, rider drop-offs can occur along the curb in front of the Zoo if it does not impede on other traffic.
Are service animals allowed?
Zoo Atlanta’s Service Animal Admittance Policy meets the requirementsdefined by law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Zoo Atlanta’s Service Animal Admittance Policy defines service animals as dogs or miniature horses who are trained to perform a specific task for an individual with a disability. Emotional support animals and other animals are not permitted on Zoo grounds. Learn more about our Service Animal Policy here.
Are first aid services available?
During the Zoo’s regular operational hours, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is on-site and on-duty. For minor incidents, you can visit the First Aid office near the entrance of the Zoo or call Zoo Atlanta’s Security Team at 404.624.5670. Any Zoo Atlanta team member will also be able to call the Security Team.
