Meet Calvin

Like all reticulated giraffes, Calvin has his own unique pattern of large, polygonal brown spots, differentiating him from his half-brother Lennard who also lives at Zoo Atlanta. The spots on his body have a patchier appearance, while the spots on his face are very solid in color. He also has an oval shaped spot next to his left eye. His favorite foods are browse (leaves and other plants provided by the Zoo’s Horticulture Team, approved by the Vet Team) and grain, and he enjoys trying to get food out of puzzle feeders. He is observant of his surroundings, but is an outgoing giraffe who will come over during the Giraffe Feeding program where you can meet him and feed him a lettuce snack.
