VulPro Update

Did you know that 25 cents of every Zoo Atlanta general admission ticket benefits programs for wildlife? Check out an update from Vulpro, one of our Quarters for Conservation projects below! #OnlyZooATL #ChangeTheWorld

“The five individuals, the four Hooded Vultures and the one Lappet-faced Vulture have settled in well at VulPro. Before the breeding season started we erected three new enclosures, one additional Lappet-faced Vulture enclosure and two Hooded Vulture enclosures. This has given the birds a chance to settle into their own spaces for breeding. The Hooded Vultures have laid eggs this season but unfortunately we have not had any fertile eggs from them yet. Likewise our Lappet-faced female has found a mate, but we have also had no further progress from them. However, we are aware that this is their first year in a new environment and that it may take them some time to settle in before they are comfortable enough to breed successfully, and so even these early signs of breeding are a success to us!”
