Panda Updates – Wednesday, May 10

There are lots of things about giant pandas that amaze and amuse me, but one of the most chuckle-worthy is how they manage to fall asleep in the most uncomfortable-looking positions. Based on what I’ve seen from Ya Lun and Xi Lun, this is a skill they pick up from a very young age. Pictured here, Ya Lun is asleep in a fairly normal looking position, on her belly and tucked into the climbing structure. Xi Lun, on the other hand, takes after her daddy Yang Yang and sleeps on her back sprawled out or tucked into a ball and on her head! Silly pandas. I wonder what they dream about…
