Boo at the Zoo presented by Georgia Natural Gas

Atlanta’s favorite fun family Halloween festival returns at Boo at the Zoo presented by Georgia Natural Gas on Saturdays and Sundays, October 17, 18, 24, and 25, 2026, and Halloween Saturday on October 31. Boo at the Zoo is made possible with additional support from Supporting Sponsor Kaiser Permanente.

Activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Seasonal fun will include trick-or-treating for kids on Trick-or-Treat Lane; meet-and-greets with strolling costume characters; spooktacular photo ops; Halloween crafts; games; and more in a Zoo transformed in the spirit of the season.

Exclusive animal trading cards featuring some of the animal kingdom’s classically “creepy” creatures will be available at stations around the Zoo. Trading card collectors are also encouraged to stop by the “Ghosts of Trading Cards Past” station, where cards from previous years may be collected. Also exclusive to the Halloween season is Jinxed: A Spooky Virtual Reality Experience presented in partnership with Immotion at the Zoo’s Wild Explorer VR Theater (additional ticket required).

Family-friendly entertainment will run on all five days of the festival:

Saturday, October 17: Ghoulish Grooves with Alyssa and “Mad Sciences” with Science Guys of Atlanta

Sunday, October 18: Captain Crimmins & the Story Boat Band and Magic of Tommy Johns

Saturday, October 24: Princess and Prince Performances and Ghoulish Grooves with Alyssa

Sunday, October 25: “Mad Sciences” with Science Guys of Atlanta and Princess and Prince Performance

Saturday, October 31: “Mad Sciences” with Science Guys of Atlanta, Magic of Tommy Johns, and Flow with Libby Seger

Family-friendly costumes are welcome and encouraged. Find costume guidelines at zooatlanta.org/boo.

Boo at the Zoo is free with general admission; free for Zoo Atlanta Members and children under 3. Get full event details here at zooatlanta.org.

About Zoo Atlanta
A proud accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the gold standard for animal care and welfare, Zoo Atlanta has a mission to save wildlife and their habitats through conservation, research, education, and engaging experiences. The Zoo is home to hundreds of animals representing more than 200 species from around the world, many of them endangered or critically endangered. Highlights include a transformed African Savanna featuring expanded habitats for African elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostrich, warthogs, meerkats, and rhinos; one of North America’s largest populations of great apes; and a global center of excellence for the care and study of reptiles and amphibians. Recent transformations include a newly updated African lion complex, opened in April 2025, and the state-of-the-art Rollins Animal Health Center, completed in 2024. In April 2026, Zoo Atlanta announced a new International Cooperative Research Agreement on Giant Panda Conservation, initiated between Zoo Atlanta and the China Wildlife Conservation Association. As part of this agreement, two new giant pandas, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, arrived in Atlanta on September 27, 2026, and their newly updated Atlanta home, Arthur M. Blank Panda Grove, will open on November 6. For more information, visit zooatlanta.org.
