Panda Updates – Wednesday, September 20

If you have been following the panda updates the past few weeks, you’ve probably read about our awesome new bubble machine that was gifted to Ya Lun and Xi Lun for their first birthday. So far, Yang Yang has been its biggest fan. While the giant pandas were snoozing, we thought it would be fun to take the machine over to Idgie the red panda’s habitat and see how she reacted. Idgie has had bubbles before, but this particular machine pumps out the bubbles quickly. Soon her whole habitat was full of them! However, in true Idgie fashion, breakfast was more important and she didn’t notice much. After she had finished eating, she did start walking through them and noticing them a bit more. One eventually drifted down, popped on her nose, and she decided it was time for her mid-morning nap in her tree. We will have to try it out again when the weather gets cooler and she is a bit more active.
