Panda Updates – Wednesday, July 28

The giant pandas recently received a special treat this week from Keeper Michelle E. Michelle took some time to cut fresh mulberry branches for the bears to munch on. Mulberry is a browse item that has been approved for the pandas to have occasionally as enrichment! 

This was my first time seeing the bears experience mulberry, so it was fun to watch and take note of. Yang Yang loved it and started to strip it like bamboo; he was very cute with it. Ya Lun also enjoyed it, but her sister Xi Lun did not. And, although I’ve heard that Lun Lun  likes mulberry; she chose not to eat it this time around. She seemed to be too preoccupied culming all of her morning bamboo.
