Panda Updates – Monday, April 8

Spring has officially sprung in Atlanta, which I’m sure everyone has noticed with all the pollen around. Spring is an exciting time for us because it means more fresh browse materials. Did you know that Yang Yang enjoys mulberry? More importantly, spring arriving means we are approaching (drum roll please)…..bamboo shoot season! During bamboo shoot season, the giant pandas will almost exclusively eat shoots. It’s very early in the season, so they are still primarily eating the normal bamboo. Today was the first day this year that they were given a few shoots each, and they certainly enjoyed them!
