Panda Updates – Friday, January 4

It’s hard to believe 2018 is already over. The past year has been exciting for the Panda Team, as we have watched Ya Lun and Xi Lun grow, and Lun Lun and Yang Yang continue to be amazing ambassadors for their species. Idgie the red panda has kept us on our toes, and we’re proud we were able to give her a comfortable and engaging habitat as she gets older. The last year was particularly exciting for me, as I joined the panda care team full-time after working in multiple areas the past few years. To say these bears have stolen my heart is probably the biggest understatement of the year. The team is ready for 2019 and looking forward to reaching the goals we have set for ourselves. Thank you to all of you for your support of not only the pandas, but for all the animals at Zoo Atlanta and the important work we are doing. Conservation is a team effort, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without you! We hope you all had a safe and fun New Year! I took a page out of Yang Yang’s book and snuck to bed a little early.
