IllumiNights closes for the season after January 19
Less than two weeks remain to experience the wonders of IllumiNights: A Lantern Festival presented by Georgia Power – and to kick off the new year with eye-popping inspirations for preserving Earth’s spectacular biodiversity – before the festival closes for the season after January 19, 2025. IllumiNights is made possible with support from Luminary Sponsor Kaiser Permanente and Spark Sponsor SouthState Bank.
From a luminescent anglerfish of the deep to a majestic bald eagle of the skies, to the flora and fauna of all of the treasured wild places in between, more than 200 intricately hand-crafted lanterns celebrate the splendors of nature. The winter wonderland is made cozier by marshmallow roasts, warm beverages (adult spirits available for ages 21 and up), and magical spins on the Endangered Species Carousel.
Because IllumiNights is an after-dark experience, the Zoo’s living population of animals will not be visible during the event. Instead, wildlife takes shape in the form of the lanterns, which are sure to excite and inspire.
In keeping with Zoo Atlanta’s mission of conservation, the Zoo Atlanta Green Team will also be accepting unused holiday lights for recycling during IllumiNights. Guests may deposit non-working or unwanted string lights at Zoo Atlanta Admissions on any evening during the remaining run of the event; lights will also be accepted at Zoo Atlanta Admissions during daytime visits.
Advance ticket purchases are strongly encouraged. Get tickets here at zooatlanta.org.
