Electronics recycling at Zoo Atlanta

Save wildlife and wild places by recycling your old electronics! 

Join Zoo Atlanta as we participate in the Gorillas on the Line…Answer the Call campaign to collect cell phones and small electronic devices for recycling with our partner ecocell. The proceeds from these recycled devices support the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Gorilla SAFE (Saving Animals from Extinction) Program.

A critical component of cell phones and other small electronics is a substance called coltan.

While you can recycle your old devices throughout the year, Gorillas on the Line … Answer the Call is an annual global mobile phone recycling challenge organized by the Gorilla SAFE engagement team with participants from across the country and around the globe.
