Caring for animals on holidays

As the majority of people spent Christmas at home spending time with their families, the Zoo Atlanta Animal Care Team spent the day providing quality care to our extended animal families. Even though the Zoo was closed on Christmas Day, the animals still needed to eat!

In the Primate Team, we all come in at 7 a.m., spending our mornings cleaning, feeding and enriching the animals until later morning. Christmas is always a different, fun day for us with holiday music playing as we work. Later in the afternoon, a few team members come back to give the animals the rest of their diets and to make sure all is well for the night.
