Around the globe at Wild World Weekend

Travel the globe with the return of Wild World Weekend, the signature two-day cultural heritage festival at Zoo Atlanta, on Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 1, 2021. The event will highlight the cultures and biodiversity of Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific, and the Americas with live performances, demonstrations, family activities and more.

Saturday, July 31: On the Grand Patio Stage, enjoy traditional dance from China by the Atlanta Chinese Dance Company; dance from Ireland by the Drake School of Irish Dance Atlanta; Gandrung dance from Indonesia by Sanggar Lestari Indonesia; and Bollywood and Kathak dances from India.

In Flamingo Plaza, see traditional dances from Africa by Manga African Dance, and enjoy Afro-beats music from JoJo Kuo.

Sunday, August 1: On the Grand Patio Stage, see traditional dances of the Pacific Islands by Mahealani’s Polynesian Entertainment; flamenco dances from Spain by Berdolé Flamenco; traditional dance from Mexico by Alma Mexicana; and a lion dance from China by the Chien Hong School of Kung Fu.

In Flamingo Plaza, hear mariachi music from Mexico by Mariachi Buhos de Oro, and see traditional dance from India by Moksha.

Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 31: Enjoy dynamic storytelling from Deborah Strahorn, and hear oud music from the Arab Middle East from ALIF Institute. Throughout the weekend, try crafts and hands-on activities from the Japan-American Society of Georgia and ALIF Institute.

Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wild World Weekend activities are free for Zoo Atlanta Members and children under 3; free with general admission.
