Here comes World of Wild Theater season!

Since 2020, the World of Wild Theater presented by Georgia Natural Gas has not had a normal schedule due to the pandemic. We shut down completely for a while, then moved to small multitaxon shows with crowds of no more than 50. We slowly upped our number and loosened restrictions over time. Eventually we were back to our normal full bird improv presentations. My goodness, that was exciting to take the stage again on that day!

With the summer approaching, we are gearing up for a full season. It will still be a little different from years past, but for different reasons other than COVID. Normally we would do a large-scale scripted show with acting and specific story lines. This year, we have opted to just do our single-person improv presentations due to the fact that we have new birds! The single-person shows, without a script, allow us to focus on positive reinforcement training for our new free flyers and their care team.

While we cannot guarantee you will see one of the new birds in any given presentation, there is a chance you may meet one. We have a new red-tailed hawk named Rose; a new hooded vulture named Marula; and the famous new Harris hawk named Hawkmoth! We may even have a new kookaburra named Sheila to add to the mix. All of these characters come with such distinct and entertaining personalities, and we cannot wait to share them with you!

Even if you don’t get the chance to see a new bird the next time you join us at the theater, you are still guaranteed to see the old crowd favorites. All the birds are so excited to start seeing their adoring fans again at the World of Wild Theater! See you this summer!
