Fall Safari Camp
When school is out, Camp is in!
We are here to engage and excite your young learners ages 5-11 during Fall Break and Thanksgiving Break.
Safari Camp is a great opportunity to engage young explorers in learning about the wild world around them and beginning their journey of conservation stewardship. Through Zoo explorations, up-close animal encounters, STEAM-based projects, hands-on science activities, environmental games and more, campers learn about attainable strategies and goals to combat environmental issues and are charged with finding simple ways that they can make a difference.
Parents/Guardians: Please carefully review the Camp Information Packet (PDF) and Medication Administration Authorization Packet (PDF) when registering your child for Camp.

THEMES:
Each week campers embark on a different Zoo expedition, exploring wildlife and wild places. Young explorers will be immersed in hands-on, minds-on learning while having fun!
October 13-17, 2025 (5 days)
Animal Ambles: Crawl along with us through a week of exploring the different ways animals use their limbs and other body parts to move through their environments. We will spend the week looking at how limbs are structured across animal classes, what body parts get subbed in for limbs, and the unique ways that animal limbs can be used differently from human limbs. At the end of the week, campers will engage in some wishful critical thinking to determine which animal limb they would most like to adopt as their own and why.
November 24-26, 2025 (3 days)
Signaling the Seasons: Seasons come, seasons go, and the animals at Zoo Atlanta are here for them all! Some animals rely heavily on seasonal changes to support their natural activities, so how do we simulate that in a zoo? How do we use our knowledge of our seasonal weather patterns to choose which animals can live in our Zoo? We will spend the week answering those questions as we work on a species proposal for a new-to-the-Zoo species who would thrive in Georgia’s climate all year long!
Campers should provide their own snacks, lunches, and water bottles.
