PLAY THE ANIMAL WAY AT ZOO ATLANTA

Annual highlight of the wild world of animal enrichment returns on Saturday, August 30

WHAT: A favorite annual event returns on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Play the Animal Way, a Zoo-wide celebration of animal enrichment. Animals around the Zoo will investigate the most colorful surprises of the year, sniff out their favorite scents, solve challenging puzzles, and more as Members and guests gain an appreciation for the innovation and creative talents behind Zoo Atlanta’s robust enrichment program.

Offered year-round for species throughout the Zoo, enrichment is considered an essential aspect of superior animal care, contributing to dynamic environments, promoting choice, allowing animals to express species-typical behaviors, and encouraging healthy activity levels. At Play the Animal Way, human visitors also enjoy fun, themed activity stations highlighting these concepts.

Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are free for Zoo Atlanta Members and children under 3; free with general admission.

Zoo Atlanta’s Animal Wish List includes many enrichment items for a variety of species, from perches for parrots to scents for big cats. Items are available for every budget and are shipped directly to the Zoo. Browse the list here
