MEET LEGO MASTERS CHAMPIONS MARK & STEVEN ERICKSON

MEET LEGO MASTERS CHAMPIONS MARK AND STEVEN ERICKSON ON JUNE 3 AND JULY 16

Brothers will also serve as celebrity judges for Zoo Atlanta’s Build Your Best Challenge

WHAT:
In celebration of Sean Kenney’s Nature POP!, which made its debut for a limited engagement at Zoo Atlanta on May 13, 2022,  Zoo Atlanta is excited to host two visits by metro Atlanta’s own well-known LEGO® builders. Mark and Steven Erickson, winners of FOX’s LEGO Masters Season Two, will be on hand to meet fans on Friday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to Noon and Saturday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to Noon. The Ericksons will greet guests, autograph trading cards, and display photography of their original Zoo Atlanta-inspired LEGO scene.

The Erickson Brothers will also act as celebrity judges for the Zoo’s Build Your Best Challenge, which launched on May 13. The contest invites builders of all ages to use LEGO pieces to create their own favorite animals, scenes from Zoo Atlanta, or animals from their imaginations for a chance to win a free one-year Family Membership to Zoo Atlanta. To enter, builders should take a photo of their creation, and email the photo to build@zooatlanta.org with the following information: first and last name of entrant (or first and last name of child if being submitted by a parent or guardian); age of entrant; and title of sculpture. Entries which do not include this information will not be considered. The contest will be open through 5 p.m. on July 15, 2022. Prizes will be awarded in three age groups: 10 and under, 11 to 17, and 18 and up. Winners will be announced on July 28, 2022. Get full contest details and rules at zooatlanta.org/build.

Featuring more than 40 sculptures crafted exclusively with over 800,000 LEGO bricks, Sean Kenney’s Nature POP! invites guests to reimagine the amazing complexities and interconnections of the wild world in fresh, fun, and unexpected ways. Visitors can expect to expect to find startling bursts of color and boundary-blurring feats of innovation as they encounter works of sculptural art throughout the Zoo. The exhibition is open through August 8, 2022. Access is free with general admission or Zoo Atlanta Membership.
