David Quavillon
Director of Animal Care
David (Dave) Quavillon joined Zoo Atlanta as Director of Animal Care in 2025.
Dave brings more than 25 years of experience to his role at Zoo Atlanta, where he oversees all of the Zoo’s animal care divisions. His zoological career includes positions as Curator of Animals at Brevard Zoo; Lead Keeper and Supervisor of Carnivores at Palm Beach Zoo; and Animal Keeper at the Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science. His leadership within AZA includes previous roles as a Species Survival Plan® (SSP) Coordinator and Studbook Keeper and a member of multiple Taxon Advisory Groups (TAGs).
Dave also has additional experience as a certified Project Manager, having joined Zoo Atlanta most recently from Booz Allen Hamilton, a top-tier management consulting firm where he led diverse teams in technology related projects.
He holds an Associate’s degree in Zoological Sciences and Technology from the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo in Gainesville, Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Eastern Florida State College.
