GROSSOLOGY DAY AT ZOO ATLANTA

WHAT: Zoo Atlanta turns “Eww” into “Wow” with a day devoted to the animal kingdom’s lesser appreciated phenomena at the fourth annual Grossology Day on Sunday, July 13, 2025.    

Get the scoop on poop, the details on disgusting diets, and more with a day packed with family activities exploring aspects of the natural world that some may consider “gross,” but which help wildlife thrive and promote healthy ecosystems:  

• Discover the amazing uses of poop in the animal kingdom  

• Find out how some animals’ dirty defenses help them survive  

• Investigate bird diets with owl pellet dissection demonstrations  

• Scavenge like a vulture  

• Channel your inner creepy-crawly by designing your own insect  

• Meet ambassador animals   

• Enjoy a Grossology Day-themed Animal Tales Storybook Reading  

• Become a grossologist extraordinaire on a special Zoo Seekers self-guided exploration
