Meet Lupe

Lupe (toco toucan) is one of the brightest birds at the theater – both in her colors and her smarts. She greets her keepers every morning with a friendly clacking sound. She also loves it when her keepers toss her crumpled balls of paper. She catches them, clacks, and then drops the ball to the ground to get ready for the next toss. She’s always ready to meet new visitors to our Zoo at our shows and demonstrations. She’ll fly back and forth between her keepers, but she’s also up to showing off the classic “toucan hop,” hopping between the arms of keepers – and sometimes a few lucky guests!
