Meet Cortez

They say that parrots are as smart as toddlers, and Cortez lives up to that expectation. He is a social bird who enjoys spending time with people, and doesn't hold back in showing favoritism to lucky few. He enjoys watching his care team complete their daily tasks, often asking "What are you doing?" as they clean and prepare animal diets. When the weather is nice, he loves to spend the day watching guests, sometimes preferring to welcome guests to wildlife presentations rather than participate in them. Cortez loves to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas as well as grapes, walnuts, and Brazil nuts. His other favorite activities include dancing, shredding newspaper and phonebooks, and spending one-on-one quality time with the lucky people he's chosen as his favorites.
