Group Volunteer Program

Volunteering at Zoo Atlanta is a great way for your club, community group, or corporation to build teamwork as well as support the community.

We can schedule days of service that provide your team with an opportunity to support our organization through a hands-on project.

GROUP VOLUNTEER SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES 

Option 1: Boo at the Zoo 

Zoo Atlanta’s annual family friendly Halloween event utilizes many Volunteers to help make the event a success! This event is an ideal opportunity for clubs, community groups, and companies to volunteer with their friends and families. Recruitment of Volunteers for this event starts in August, but you can add your group’s name and information to our recruitment list today and we will reach out to you once we start recruitment!  

Guidelines for volunteering at Boo at the Zoo: 

• All Volunteers must be 8 years old or older. 
• All Volunteers under the age of 18 must volunteer with a parent/guardian/chaperone; Groups must have at least 1 adult for every 4 youth.  
• Costumes are welcome, but we ask that they are merry, not scary – no face masks or full-face makeup will be allowed. 
• Additional information on shift times and assignments will be shared in the August recruitment email.

Option 2: Corporate Partner Volunteer Service Days 

Volunteer service days are a benefit for our Corporate Partners at the $5,000 level of support or higher. We can schedule a service day during the week that is mutually beneficial to both Zoo Atlanta and your team. At least one month’s notice is necessary to schedule service days. Learn more about how you can become a Corporate Partner. Once you become a Corporate Partner, you will be connected with the Director of Volunteer Programs to schedule a service day.  

Guidelines for Corporate Partner Service Days:  

• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and no longer in high school. 
• Service days are scheduled for weekdays, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. 
• Service day capacity is 25 participants per date. 
• Once a date is scheduled, the group leader will receive confirmation of schedule, including directions for parking, and a waiver for all participants to sign.
