Spend Mother’s Day at Zoo Atlanta

Celebrate human and non-human mothers on Mother’s Day at Zoo Atlanta. On Sunday, May 10, 2026, mothers enjoy free admission with purchase of any regularly-priced, same-day child’s or adult’s general admission ticket.

Zoo Atlanta Members, who already enjoy free daytime admission year-round, may treat Mom to a Zoo day by presenting a Zoo Atlanta Membership card on arrival.

Themed family fun will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Photo-ops: Capture picture-perfect moments with Mom at Mother’s Day-themed photo-ops around the Zoo.
  • Kids’ craft: Get the kids creating with a keepsake craft for Mom.
  • Make Your Own Seed Bomb station: Make your own seed bombs to please pollinators and bring the beauty of native Georgia flowers to your garden.
  • Zoo-themed coloring mural: Show your colors with your own special flourish on a large coloring mural.
  • Live musical performances: Join The Music Class from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for live interactive performances full of singing, dancing, and movement, including an instrument petting zoo afterwards.
  • Happy birthday, Madu: One of the Zoo’s most legendary mother figures, adoptive supermom Madu the Sumatran orangutan, turns 43 on May 13, and Zoo Atlanta will celebrate her birthday on Mother’s Day. Madu and family will enjoy festive treats while guests enjoy a special Orangutan Keeper Talk at 10:15 a.m. at Madu’s habitat.

Say hi to Zoo Atlanta’s many mothers, including Madu and many, many more, including but not limited to Adanna and Lami the Angolan colobus monkeys; Amana the lappet-faced vulture; Bam the Schmidt’s guenon; Blaze the Sumatran orangutan; Bonnie and Nutella the Hoffmann’s two-toed sloths; Bramble the binturong; Eleanor the warthog; Kiazi the southern white rhino; Mama and Small Fry the tawny frogmouths; Miri the Bornean orangutan; Peggy the blue crane; Sava the crowned lemur; Shalia, Kudzoo, Sukari, Lulu, Machi, and Kuchi the western lowland gorillas; and Wacka Flocka the wattled crane.
