Safari Camp Scholarship Program

Zoo Atlanta is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of scholarships to our Safari Camp during most 2026 Camp Sessions. Scholarship recipients will receive one five-day week of Safari Camp, daily lunch and snacks, and extended care. Summer Safari Camp participants will also receive a Camp T-shirt.

  • February Winter Safari Camp application deadline: December 22, 2025 
  • Spring Break Safari Camp application deadline: February 9, 2026 
  • Summer Safari Camp application deadline: April 6, 2026 
  • Fall Safari Camp application deadline: August 17, 2026 
  • Winter Safari Camp application deadline: November 2, 2026 

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Camper must be a current resident of Metro Atlanta.
  • Camper must qualify for and receive free or reduced lunch.
  • Camper must be between the ages of 5 to 11 years old.
  • Guardian of camper must agree to provide transportation to and from Camp daily during the week of Camp.
  • If awarded, a $25 non-refundable fee made payable via credit card will be due at the time of registration.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Once you have submitted an application through our website, please be sure to submit the following required documents by email or mail to be considered.  

Email or mail the following required documents: 

  • Proof of residency in Metro Atlanta. 
  • Proof the camper receives free or reduced lunch. 
  • Letter of need from the guardian describing how the camper will benefit from Safari Camp.
  • Letter of interest from the camper. 

Completed applications and all required documents must be submitted together to be considered a complete application. Required documents may be submitted via:

  • Email to education@zooatlanta.org with subject line:  “2026 Safari Camp Scholarship Submission”  
  • OR Mail to: Zoo Atlanta Education, 800 Cherokee Avenue, S.E., Atlanta, GA 30315. 

The following 2026 Safari Camp dates are available for scholarships. 

  • Winter Camp: February 16-20, 2026 
  • Spring Break Camp: April 6-10, 2026
  • Summer Camp Sessions:
    • June 1-5 
    • June 8-12 
    • June 15-19 
    • June 22-26 
    • June 29 – July 3 
    • July 6-10 
    • July 13-17 
    • July 20-24 
    • July 27-31
  • Fall Camp: October 12-16, 2026
  • Winter Camp: December 28, 2026 – January 1, 2027

RECIPIENT SELECTION & NOTIFICATION: 

  • Each session of Camp is separated based on the season, so please review your desired week selection and apply based on your desired week of attendance.  
  • Scholarships will be awarded based on pre-selected criteria and completion of the application.
  • If selected, a $25 non-refundable deposit is due at time of notification to secure your scholarship.
