July 4 at the Zoo

July 4

Members of the Armed Forces enjoy special discounts and families enjoy pre-fireworks fun on July 4

Zoo Atlanta sends a special salute to the Armed Forces and offers families a destination for pre-fireworks fun this Independence Day. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, active-duty, reserve, veteran and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces enjoy free admission and $4 off general admission for up to six accompanying guests with a valid military ID.

Salute Sequoyah

Be sure to stop by and send a salute of your own to Sequoyah the bald eagle. Named the national bird of the United States in 1782, the bald eagle is also one of American history’s greatest conservation success stories. Driven to the brink of extinction in the 20th century, the species was removed from the Endangered Species List in 2007, although it remains federally protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and state laws.

More Fourth of July favorites include …

  • Treetop Trail presented by Kaiser Permanente, our new aerial playground where guests can zig, zag, climb on balance on a two-level challenge above the KIDZone.
  • Splash Fountain presented by Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority, a water play area featuring 18 jets – bring bathing suits for the kids!
  • Scaly Slimy Spectacular: The Amphibian and Reptile Experience, a climate-controlled destination all its own and home to many American beauties, including American alligators Rosalynn, Savannah, Talisa and Tallulah; diamondback terrapins; Barbour’s map turtles; eastern indigo snakes; and alligator snapping turtles.

The Independence Day military discount is valid only on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, and may not be combined with any other offer or promotion. The offer is valid only at Zoo Atlanta Admissions; not valid online.
