Art Gone Wild presented by Modo Modo Agency
Artists will be at work throughout the Zoo during Paint-Out Week, June 4 through June 8.
The reasons to be inspired by the natural world become artists’ muses as Zoo Atlanta kicks off its fifth annual Art Gone Wild Paint-Out Week, the kickoff of Art Gone Wild presented by Modo Modo Agency, from June 4 through June 8, 2018.
Art Gone Wild highlights the centuries-old approach to art known as en plein air or “in the open air.” Selected during a call for artists earlier this year, around 40 of Atlanta’s top talents will be stationed throughout the Zoo during Paint-Out Week, an opportunity for visitors to watch as the artists create one-of-a-kind works inspired by the animals, botanicals and experiences of Zoo Atlanta.
Guests may purchase sketches, studies and small paintings by the artists during a Clothesline Sale on the Zoo’s Grand Patio from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 through Friday, June 8.
Art Sale Kickoff Party
Be one of the first to view the 2018 Art Gone Wild collection of finished originals created during Paint-Out Week at an evening with the artists on Friday, June 15, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is no charge to attend the Kickoff Party, which will also feature live music, a chance to meet the artists and a cash bar.
All art will be available for purchase during the event, and artists have graciously agreed to donate a portion of proceeds from art sales to conservation programs at Zoo Atlanta. The gallery will be located in the Zoo’s Conservation Action Resource Center (ARC). Guests may enter through the Conservation Education Gate located in the Cherokee Avenue parking lot.
Art Show and Sale
View and purchase finished artworks, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Zoo, during the two-day Art Show and Sale event on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Entry to the special exhibition is included with Zoo admission.
