Art Gone Wild at Zoo Atlanta

See artists at work during Paint-Out Week, June 3 through June 7.

WHAT:
Wildlife and the natural world are sources of inspiration at Art Gone Wild, Zoo Atlanta’s signature celebration of art. The sixth-annual event kicks off with Paint-Out Week, coming up Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7, 2019.

Paint-Out Week
Art Gone Wild highlights the centuries-old approach to art known as en plein air or “in the open air.” Selected during a call for artists earlier this year, more than 30 of Atlanta’s top talents will be stationed throughout the Zoo during Paint-Out Week, an opportunity for visitors to watch as artworks inspired by the animals and scenes of Zoo Atlanta begin to take shape.

Clothesline Sale
Guests may purchase sketches, studies and small paintings by the artists during a Clothesline Sale on the Zoo’s Grand Patio from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 through Friday, June 7.

Art Sale Kickoff Party
Be one of the first to view and purchase pieces from the 2019 Art Gone Wild collection of finished original works created during Paint-Out Week at an evening with the artists on Friday, June 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is no charge to attend the Kickoff Party, which will also feature live music, a chance to meet the artists and a cash bar. The gallery will be located in the Zoo’s Conservation Action Resource Center (ARC). Guests may enter through the Conservation Education Gate located in the Cherokee Avenue parking lot.

Art Show and Sale
View and purchase finished artworks during the two-day Art Show and Sale on Saturday and Sunday, June 15 and 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Entry to the special exhibition is included with Zoo admission.

Coming in summer 2019: the all-new African Savanna, featuring new and expanded habitats for African elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, warthogs and meerkats.
