Forage Like a Kori!
Kori bustards are large, omnivorous birds with adaptations for foraging in tall grasses for their food. Meet a bird care specialist and a Zoo educator at the kori bustard habitat to watch the kori bustards forage for a snack of insects, and practice your own foraging skills in a themed sensory bin. You may even touch kori bustard feathers or get a chance to examine their pointed beak on a skull replica up-close!
Zoo Atlanta participates in AZA’s Kori Bustard Species Survival Plan® (SSP), and includes this program as part of its initiative to increase awareness of the species and the threats these birds face. Visit koribustardssp.org for more information on the SSP.
