A month of art with Art Gone Wild
Animals and the wonders of the natural world have inspired artists to create for millennia. In June, Members and guests of Zoo Atlanta will be immersed in inspiration in a monthlong celebration of art with the return of Art Gone Wild, featuring events for buyers, crafters, window shoppers, fine artists, and budding artists.
“The splendor, incredible diversity, and extraordinary connectedness of nature inspire us to protect, but they also inspire us to create,” said Raymond B. King, President and CEO. “With the debut of an expanded Art Gone Wild, we celebrate the creative process and the ways animals have always moved people to make works of enduring beauty.”
From Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10, watch 20 artists at work throughout the Zoo as they create artworks en plein air, or “in the open air” with their subjects in view. One-of-a-kind works will be available for sale in Flamingo Plaza; artists are generously donating 50 percent of art sale proceeds to Zoo Atlanta. Access is free with Zoo Atlanta Membership; free with general admission.
